IABC Minnesota: Summer School for Communicators

Date June 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Cost $20

Which COVID-19 Data Can You Trust?

Your Facebook feed provides only scanty information in this COVID-19 pandemic and the return to “normal” transition period — even if you are connected with board-certified physicians and remote working business advisors.

With so many varying sources, where do you turn for meaningful and accurate health data and public information? How are you educating your employees? And how are you publicly representing your company’s activities in the appropriate context?

This Summer School session will address the importance of using credible data — tangible facts — to provide comfort and reassurance to our stakeholders. We will review common red flags to let you know when data might not be reliable (i.e., too broad, too specific, or lack context). Alternatively, we will explore how to determine the trustworthiness of a source i.e., read carefully, trust cautiously, and when in doubt, look to additional experts to verify the facts).

Hosted online via Zoom; a Zoom link will be emailed in advance of the meeting. This event will be recorded for future play and is free to anyone registered for CONVERGENCE Summit 2020.
