Striving to Exceed Expectations.
Marlene and Doug Phipps embarked on their first entrepreneurial venture in 1990, launching Phipps Creative Services, a small design shop offering design, illustration, and copywriting services to local clients. But by 1993, in response to an increased demand for on-site creative freelancers to work alongside clients, Marlene blazed the trail with an innovative and original kind of agency called Freelance Creative.

Over time, Freelance Creative evolved into what is now known as Celarity: an award-winning Staffing, Recruiting & HR Consulting Firm for Marketing, Creative, Digital, Operations, Human Resources, & Finance Talent.
Celarity has always been a family-owned business and in 2017, Marlene & Doug’s sons, Robert and John Arnold, stepped into ownership roles.


Each quarter, one team member wins the Phipps Vision Award award based on their display of company values.
This quarter’s award recipient is Senior Recruiter Ashlee Walstad!
Ashlee has been on an absolute winning streak – leading the team on placements (a.k.a. creating happy careers) and leading our Inclusive Connections Committee through a record-breaking year of volunteer events and donation drives.
Her leadership, dedication to building meaningful connections, and passion for giving back to our community make a real impact – inside and outside of Celarity. We’re so lucky to have Ashlee on our team!
